Agricultural Council of Maine

GROWTH. OPPORTUNITY. IMPACT.

Welcome to the Agricultural Council of Maine’s website.  AGCOM, as it is known in Maine, was established on July 11, 1990 to support Maine agriculture in two key ways:

·        to provide a forum for communication among agricultural groups

·        to provide leadership and advocacy on agricultural issues that affect all sectors of Maine agriculture.

Membership in AGCOM is open to commodity groups and statewide non-profits that service agriculture. In addition, businesses and smaller agricultural groups can become non-voting associate members.  Non-voting ex-officio members include the University of Maine, Cooperative Extension, federal and state agricultural agencies, and representatives from Maine’s congressional offices.

AGCOM meetings are held the last Tuesday of each month, except December.  Each meeting includes informational presentations, reports on current issues as well as updates and news from members.  Any member of the larger agricultural community is welcome to attend meetings that deal with an item of interest.
